Moscow Sport

Moscow Sport is a universal name for Moscow City Sports Department. It provides services in the field of physical culture and sports, the organization and delivery of sports events, development and coordination of international and interregional relations in these areas. As part of the rebranding for Sports Department by Deluxe Interactive, we developed a Mossport font commissioned by the agency.

The font is inspired by Soviet poster typography of the first half of the last century, propaganda posters and Constructivist graphics. It is a narrow and dense grotesque, possessing a modular structure of symbols with notes of nostalgia for Soviet heritage. The font is used display setting, therefore, in the iconic composition it contains only capital characters of the Latin and Cyrillic alphabet, punctuation signs and additional signs necessary for brand communication.
